• Eligible organizations include not-for-profit organizations under section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code and for-profit organizations where revenue is consistent with the mission of Visit Shreveport-Bossier. The activities, attractions, and special events applying for funding must occur in Caddo and/or Bossier parish.
  • The tourism-related entities promoting activities, attractions and special events should have a history of, or the potential for attracting out-of-parish visitors, either as participants or spectators, that result in hotel/motel/campground occupancies. Consideration will also be given to activities, attractions, and special events that have the potential to generate national, state, or regional media exposure for Caddo and/or Bossier parish.
  • Applicant's organization must be in good standing in other VSB programs, such as Visit Shreveport-Bossier Visitor Guide listings, web page listings, and so on. 
  • Event/Festival must be listed on the SB Fun Guide prior to applying for a VSB grant. 
  • A representative from the organization must have attended a minimum of one quarterly educational Shreveport-Bossier Attraction Seminar and one of the ten monthly VSB's hospitality breakfast in the past year. 
  • The VSB must be able to place a banner(s) at the activity, attraction, and/or special event site.
  •  The organization must be willing to provide (tickets) access to the activity, attraction, and/or special event for VSB’s staff for monitoring and economic development proposes.
  • Activities, attractions, and special events must publicly recognize Visit Shreveport-Bossier as a sponsor by including the following items in promotional materials and providing sponsorship benefits equal to the other sponsors of the same level.
  •  VSB’s logo 
  •  VSB’s phone number (1-800-551-8682)

General Guidelines

  • The funds must be used for advertising and promotion of tourism-related activities, attractions, and special events outside of Caddo and Bossier parishes.
  • Advertising and promotion must have a reach that extends beyond one hundred (100) miles from Caddo and Bossier parishes.
  • Funding requires a minimum of one hundred percent (100%) match, with no more than fifty percent (50%) of that match being in-kind contributions. 
  • For events utilizing less than 2,000 room nights, the maximum is up to $7,500. For events utilizing more than 2,000 room nights, the maximum is up to $12,500.  Example: Fifty (50) room nights for three (3) days equals 150 room nights. 
  • Grants will be awarded based on the strength of the application and funding available. 
  • The VSB must be able to place a banner(s) at the activity, attraction, and/or special event site.
  •  The organization must be willing to provide (tickets) access to the activity, attraction, and/or special event for VSB’s staff for monitoring and economic development purposes.
